Monkey Business

The Monkey has quickly established itself as a spring favourite throughout Scotland and has, once again, being chalking up more than its share of springers in the early season. Diver Dave hit the jackpot on opening day on the Dee, landing three at Invery on a Monkey I had made for him in return for sorting out my waders- a good deal all round.    Diver Dave's Wader Repair

As night follows day, patterns evolve and variants emerge; its all part of the fun of fly tying. Alan Greene has been pulling a few out of the Tummel at Portnacraig on his tying of the  Tummel Monkey. This is a variant created by our pal Donnie Whiteford, who based it on the Orange Rapala. Donnie is now based at the excellent Garynahine Estate on the Isle of Lewis

Ill let Alan's pics tell the story. The fish were 10lb, 14lb and 15lb.

These are available in the shop. I also have a supply of Loop tube doubles to go with them.
